Research Lines
Research Line 1: Museology and Social Development
Is characterized by museological studies on patrimonialization, musealization, tangible and intangible heritage, cultural and educational actions with communities, and the history of the constitution of the museological field. It addresses contemporary museological theory based on the relationship between heritage, culture, and preservation, among other issues, focusing on social development from the perspective of education for the training of individuals involved in museum action. With cultural heritage as an instrument of social inclusion and citizenship, this line brings together studies that seek to understand and value the diverse sociocultural realities of societies and their diverse forms of expression.

Research Line 2: Heritage and Communication
Develops studies and research on the diverse forms and approaches of cultural mediation, methodologies for the interpretation, institutionalization, and extroversion of heritage. It brings together investigations on the relationship between heritage and museological communication using strategies for the construction of musealization processes, audience studies, as well as the intersections between museums and heritage with ICT.
